Hi! My name's Sarah and this is a blog full of everything I wish to share and whatever goes through my mind when I sit down to blog. :)
Hey! I actually don’t know too much about transferring but do try and make sure all your credits can transfer to USC (and other schools you’re applying to) or you may need to retake a lot of classes. Since USC is private, they’re pretty good about financial aid packages but if that’s still a concern for you (like it was for me) then I’d recommend starting to apply to more scholarships. I’ve had really good experiences when contacting different USC offices so feel free to email or call them if you need any help. Also, there are different requirements for applications based on your major and school you’re applying to so make sure you look into that. Here’s a link to the admissions blog post about transfer applicant tips: https://admissionblog.usc.edu/2013/01/17/tips-for-transfer-applicants/.
Hope that helps!
Dorm room shopping is one of the most exciting parts of preparing for college life so I’ve been running around trying to make sure I’ve got everything I need. Unfortunately, I don’t even have half of what I need (and I move in in a month! O.O) since I’m moving across the country and it’s so much more practical to just buy everything over there and online. So, for you out of staters, I TOTALLY recommend either buying everything in the city that you’re moving to OR just have everything shipped over. For me, I’m not supposed to ship anything to my dorm room until I officially check-in but luckily, I know a few people in SoCal so I can ship things over there. For bedding and such, since I don’t have much time to shop around in LA, I’ve actually just ordered a package through my school and it’ll just be ready for me when I move-in (woohoo!) and everything else that I order online (I have a TON of architecture supplies), I’ll have it shipped to someone’s house in LA and then go pick it up. Word of advice, if you do ship things over to someone else’s house, try to not overstay your welcome and make sure they know you’re sending things over and try your best to have it shipped near the time that you plan on coming to pick it up.
Right, so I live for checklists and to-do lists SO I made a list of everything I should have as part of my “dorm haul”. My personal written list is a little messy so I’ll just type up a more organized list for all you lovelies that will be going to college in the fall. Check it out and let me know if there’s something I left off or just some other recommendations you may have. Trust me, any and all advice will be much appreciated. :)
One last thing! This is more geared towards girls (sorry guys) but I’m sure plenty of stuff on here is standard for any college student. :)
